MECHANICSVILLE, Md. (August 17, 2019) – Another podium finish by Marvin Musquin scoring 3-3 for third-overall at Budds Creek Motocross in Mechanicsville, Maryland. With the AMA Pro Championship title already wrapped up, Musquin will give everything he has to secure second at the final round of the series next weekend.
After qualifying second overall, Musquin carried that energy into Moto 1. He captured a great start and battled his way to a top-five spot early on. Musquin made his way to fourth on lap two and then into third and continued to charge for second but unfortunately made a small mistake late in the race that slowed down his momentum and a chance to battle it out for second.
In Moto 2, Musquin captured another great start but collided with another rider that dropped him back to fifth on the opening lap. He managed to get some speed going to pass fourth and into third but that was all he could manage ultimately scoring 3-3 for third-overall. The final round of the series will take place next weekend at Ironman National where Musquin will battle it out with Ken Roczen for second in the 2019 AMA Pro Motocross Championship.
Musquin: “I had good practices today and the motos got rougher, harder and drier, which made it more difficult on the body and on the bike. My starts were actually pretty good but things happened in both motos that cost me a couple of positions early on. Overall, I gave my best and we just need to work a little more for those types of conditions.”
