WASHOUGAL, Wa. (July 27, 2019) – Marvin Musquin continues his podium streak at Round 9 of the 2019 AMA Pro Motocross Championship at Washougal MX in Washougal, Washington. His 5-2 moto scores earned him third overall and with only three rounds remaining, Musquin’s consistency continues to keep him in the running for the 450MX Championship.
Musquin qualified second and started Moto 1 out front with a decent start. He charged his way to fourth by the opening lap and battled inside the top-six for majority of the moto. He eventually faded back a bit and maintained fifth till the end of the moto.
In Moto 2, Musquin was able to bounce back by taking the lead on the opening lap and lead the first 11 laps until he was passed late in the race. He fought hard in the final laps, ultimately finishing second in the moto and third overall for the day.
Musquin: “I was really disappointed in my first moto result, I had a tough time getting around Cooper and unfortunately just lost my rhythm a bit and couldn’t move back up. In the second moto, I felt really good on the bike and was able to battle with Eli [Tomac] and salvage some points with a second place finish and third overall for the day.”
