DENVER, Colo. (April 13, 2019) – Round 15 of the Monster Energy Supercross Championship returned to Denver, Colorado for the first time since 1996. Marvin Musquin captured the Main Event holeshot and his 11thpodium finish, by claiming third overall for the night.
Musquin kicked off the day by qualifying second overall and lined up for 450SX Heat 1. He struggled during the heat and was able to secure a fifth-place transfer into the Main Event.
As the gate dropped for the 450SX Main Event, Musquin shot off the line capturing the holeshot and began pulling away early on in the race. He lead the first couple laps before battling with Eli Tomac but eventually was passed by Tomac on lap 6. Musquin tried to make the pass to reclaim the lead but then he began battling with Cooper Webb for second and ultimately assuming third for the night.
Musquin: “I was not very confident going into the Main after a difficult heat race but good thing we made some changes and they helped me pull off a good start – that was the key to getting on the podium tonight. The track was very difficult with the hard surface and ground but no excuses I gave my best.”
