BUCHANAN, Mich. (July 6, 2019) – In front of the most energetic crowd on the circuit, Marvin Musquin earned his third consecutive podium finish at Round 7of the 2019 AMA Pro Motocross Championship. It wasn’t an easy ride for the Frenchman as he had to overcome adversity in the first moto and then backed it up with an impressive race-win finish in the second moto. His 7-1 moto scores earned him third overall as he continues to fight for the 450SX Championship.
Musquin’s opening moto didn’t start out as he planned, as he went down on the first lap and found himself trapped under his bike for several seconds until he received assistance to free him from underneath the bike. He immediately began his hard charge to make up for lost time and made his was to 10thby the halfway point. By the end of the moto he managed to work his way to a seventh-place finish.
Musquin bounced back in the second moto and took over second early on. He battled with Ken Roczen briefly for the lead but he regained control and held his position till the end of the moto claiming his third consecutive victory. Musquin will be heading to Millville on July 20thsecond in points.
Musquin: “The riding was really good all day and felt great after practice but unfortunately, I didn’t get a great start in the first moto and then ended up going down in the first lap. It was very bad but I came back from dead last to seventh. To be able to win the second moto is just awesome and to salvage a podium was really important today – it’s good for the team and it’s good for me.”
