Washougal, WA (July, 28 2018) – Marvin Musquin continues his podium streak at Washougal National for round 9 of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship. His 2-3 moto scores earned him third overall and with only three rounds remaining, Marvin’s consistency continues to keep him in the running for the 450MX Championship.
During Moto 1, Marvin started out in fourth and charged his way into second by the fourth lap. He eventually faded back from the lead and maintained his position till the end of the moto, finishing second.
In Moto 2, he got off to a top-five start and by lap two passed Justin Hill taking over the second-place position. Marvin put pressure on the leader and held the position for majority of the race. With five laps to go, Marvin battled Eli Tomac until the end ultimately finishing third, securing him third overall.
Musquin: “Honestly, I expected a little better weekend. I love Washougal but it was definitely a tough track and it was hot out there so it was hard for the guys to keep the moisture and the softness in the ground, as expected. My starts were decent, not great, and I was able to put myself in okay position both motos and fight hard for the lead, but I came up short in both motos with second and third.”
The series now takes a weekend off and will resume at Unadilla National on August 11th.
