Sacramento (May 19, 2018) – Marvin Musquin started off the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship with a solid pair of second-place finishes at the rough Hangtown MX circuit outside California’s capital.

When the first starting gate of the season dropped in front of thousands of fans at the 50thrunning of the Hangtown MX Classic, it was Marvin who strategically placed himself inside the top three early on where he battled his way to second in Moto 1.

Unlike Moto 1, Marvin found himself in the back of the pack in Moto 2 after being pinched off at the end of the start. Despite the early challenge, Marvin was able to make his way into the top-three and continued to fight his way into the lead battle where he ultimately finished second overall.

Musquin:“The first round, to get a second-place is a good start. The second moto I got squeezed off the start, Eli and I were a little in the back, and I thought it was going to be a tough one but I was able to come back to the lead, which is awesome. I’m really happy about my riding today. It’s the first race with a new bike setup and we’re not too far off of being 100 percent, so I’m looking forward to next weekend and I’m glad I started the year off right, I would say. We’ll try to get better next weekend.”
