MILLVILLE, Minn. (July 20, 2019) – Round 8 of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship took place at Spring Creek MX Park in Millville, Minnesota where heavy rain, thunder and lighting threated this year’s race. A recipe for a mudder that caused practice to be cut and an hour delay to the moto’s. Marvin Musquin finished just outside a podium finish in fourth with his 3-7 moto scores and salvaged what he could with the tough weather conditions.
In Moto 1, Musquin found himself in the top-10 after lap one but battled through the sloppy conditions into fourth by lap five. He made his way to third by the half way point and put on a great charge during the final laps to secure third.
In Moto 2, Musquin got caught in the first turn carnage and was forced to begin outside the top-20. By lap five he was able to climb his way to tenth and put on another charge advancing him to seventh where he ultimately salvaged seventh, placing him just outside the podium with fourth overall.
Musquin: “I absolutely love this track and have always done well here but with the weather conditions and cutting practice it was difficult. In Moto 1 I was pretty far back and made my way up to third so I was pretty pleased with that ride. In the second moto I was looking for a better start and unfortunately went down in the first turn. I’m definitely not happy because the riding today was pretty good but the result is not what I wanted. I was looking forward to a good battle for the lead and to make up some points but that didn’t happen. Next week is Washougal and we’ll spend the week in California working with the team, so it will be good.”
