NASHVILLE, Tenn. (April 6, 2019) – Round 14 of the Monster Energy Supercross Championship hosted its first race in Nashville, Tennessee at the Nissan Stadium. Marvin Musquin, had a tough night but still managed to salvage sixth overall and is currently sitting tied for second place in the championship point standings.
Musquin put down some of the fastest lap times during the day and qualified second in the 450SX class. During Heat 1 he immediately began battling out front and took over the lead until the race was red flagged resulting in a restart. Musquin had a few issues after the restart ultimately dropping him back to an eighth-place transfer into the Main Event.
In the 450SX Main Event, Musquin snuck into second place where he battled just behind the leader early on. He saw an opening for the lead in the whoops section but unfortunately went down causing him to drop back to last place. Musquin managed to salvage sixth-place overall and recover some valuable points in the championship.
Musquin: “This was definitely a tough track with hard dirt. Qualifying eighth in the heat race kind of put me in a bad position for the Main Event but I was able to get a decent start in second. Unfortunately, I made another mistake in the first set of whoops and I went down. From last, I came all the way back to sixth-place, which is okay but the end result is not good so we’ll keep on fighting.”
