NEW BERLIN, N.Y. (August 10, 2019) – Round 10 of the 2019 AMA Pro Motocross Championship returned for the 50thAnniversary of Unadilla motocross in New Berlin, New York. Marvin Musquin added another podium finish with a second-overall after finishing 2-2 for the day. With only two rounds left in the season, Musquin gained 10 points toward the 450MX Championship and is currently sitting second in the class standings.
During Moto 1, Musquin got off to a top-five start and quickly threw himself in the battle for the lead position and into third by the opening lap. By lap six, Musquin began closing in on his competitor Eli Tomac and took over the second place spot where he ultimately secured second.
In Moto 2, Musquin jumped off the line to capture the holeshot and into the lead. Unfortunately he made a small mistake that sent him off the track and allowed Ken Roczen to slid by. Musquin fought back and battled with Roczen but couldn’t get the same momentum going and finished Moto 2 in second.
Musquin: “I’m pretty happy with my day but I wish I would have given it a better fight in the second moto. I felt good in both motos but at the end I started making mistakes. Overall, it’s a good day but I wanted more. I have good memories here – winning my first 250 race here in 2013 – so of course I want more of that but I’m happy to gain 10 points on Eli Tomac in the overall championship.”
