Musquin had a solid heat race result in fourth and started the night off on a great note. Once the gate dropped for the Main Event Musquin jumped off the line in second and was right on top of the leader and teammate Cooper Webb, till mid-way through the race. Unfortunately Musquin made a mistake in the turn and fell from second to fourth. Once Musquin collected himself he made a hard charge towards the leader and began chipping away at Webb’s eight-second lead to just three seconds with two laps to go. He battled all the way to the very last second of the race, securing second and is currently sitting fourth in the championship standings.

Musquin: “My riding was good and I was actually going through the whoops really well in the main, but not in practice. The main was a different story for me. I had to be creative and tonight that was my strong point.  Once I passed (Ken) Roczen in the whoops it gave me more confidence and momentum and I was like, YES! I’m in second now! Just a couple of laps before I couldn’t even think about the podium so it gave me a big boost to catch Cooper (Webb). It wasn’t enough for the win but the riding was really good. Blake (Baggett) was right behind me and was really fast too so I couldn’t relax because I knew he was right there. Coming into practice everyone was so fast and lap times were so close between the top ten guys, so getting a second place tonight is so important for the championship.”
