Solid fifth place finish at Glendale Arizona

GLENDALE, Ariz. (January, 12 2019)  –The second round of the 2019 Monster Energy Supercross Series took place in Glendale Arizona at the State Farm Stadium. The enormous stadium floor contained a very long and challenging track and unfortunately some had a better outcome that others. Marvin Musquin managed a solid fifth and is currently sitting sixth in the point standings.

Unfortunately Stewart had a bad crash in the whoops causing the race to be red flagged and the riders were re-set with a staggered start with 13:25 left on the clock. Musquin began the re-set in third and resumed his battle for a podium finish but fell back to fifth were he finished the night.

Musquin “Phoenix is always a big track. It’s a big stadium so they always build big lanes and it’s a really tough track and has been for the last couple of years. But this year was a lot better with qualifying fourth and close laps times between everybody else. I got a great start in the heat race, got the win and wanted to do the same in the main. I got a great start again, battled for the lead but got passed for third. I tried to be consistent and not lose too much ground and stayed close to (Jason) Anderson but then they red flagged the race for Malcom Stewart. It’s very unfortunate and I hope he’s ok, always a bummer to see that. Unfortunately I made a couple mistakes after we re-started the race and cost me two spots ending with fifth. It’s not too made considering everything that happened in the main and it’s still improvement for me.”
